"Singh", as he likes to be called, joined the yard in March, 2016. He is a very experienced rider having spent a number of years at Richard Hannon's yard. He has quickly settled into his new environment and established himself as part of our experienced team.
We are lucky to have Tess in every weekend to help on the yard and ride out. She is an excellent rider and enjoys her time on the yard. The picture shows Tess riding a finish in a recent pony race.
Alfie joined the team on a full time basis in October, 2017. He brings plently of experience with him having been a pupil assistant trainer for Stuart Williams and previous to that riding lots of good horses whilst based with Godolphin. He was also an apprentice jockey and is a knowledgeable and friendly addition to the team.
Holly joined to team at the end of summer, 2017 having previously been one of our "Saturday" girls. She has completed a degree in Equine sports science and is also trained to use an Equisage machine, which the horses love and keeps there muscles in great shape before and after racing.
Hugo has spent a considerable time (over 20 years) in the racing industry. He had spent 12 years at Peter Harris/Walter Swinburn before joining the team in 2011. Hugo is an excellent lightweight rider and has lots of experience with youngstock. He is also our main gallop man and takes great pride in ensuring a first class surface.
Gain joined in the summer of 2017. He has a number of year's experience as a work rider, latterly at Henry Candy. He has settled in well with the team.
Andy Jones (Farrier)
Andy has been our farrier for over 10 years and he is a vital member of the team. He has vast experience of working with thoroughbreds having previously also worked at Peter Harris and the late Pat Eddery.
As the photo depicts he always has a smile on his face (unless it is a naughty 2yo he is shoeing!!)
Rewant, joined the team in November, 2017 after spending many years with Stuart Kittow. He is a very good rider and very pleasant person who has settled in well to the yard.
Jessica works on the yard during University holidays. In 2015 she completed her degree in Bio Chemistry and achieved 1st Class Honours which is a great achievement. She now is undertaking he masters but helps out at the yard in holiday times when needed. She started with us as a Saturday girl in 2008 and we all look forward to seeing her when she takes time out from her studies.
Michael Keady, Assistant Trainer
Michael Keady has joined the team as my assistant trainer after spending two very successful years overseeing Andrew Reid's London based racing operation. Prior to this Michael has served as head lad to top northern based trainer Brian Ellison, pupil assistant to Dubai World Cup winning trainer Graham Motion, based in Florida, USA and also worked under top French jumps trainer J Bertran de Balanda. As well as horse racing Michael is also a keen follower of thoroughbred breeding and bloodstock and enjoys rugby, reading and music.
Mike Murphy, Trainer
Mike was a leading City Analyst and he set up Mike Murphy Racing in 2007 following a number of years of ownership and having ridden as an Amateur. Having intially divided his time between his City work and the racing stables Mike retired from his analytical duties in 2014 to concentrate on developing the racing stables. From inception the strategy has been to develop excellent facilities and experienced staff and the yard can boast both. Mike’s long suffering wife, Denise, is the racing secretary and is responsible for the book keeping and ensuring we are compliant with the ever increasing rules and regulations governing the sport.
